Two New Zealand Lotto players have each received $15,083,333 after winning Saturday’s, June 21, $30 million Powerball jackpot, according to Lotto NZ. The winners, one from the bottom of the North Island and the other from the bottom of the South Island, became the 10th and 11th Powerball jackpot winners in New Zealand for 2025.

Lotto NZ officials confirmed that the winning tickets were sold through separate outlets, with one purchased in the North Island and the other in the South Island city of Invercargill. The Powerball jackpot had reached $30 million before the draw on Saturday evening.

The Invercargill winner, a woman who chose to remain anonymous, stated that family support was one of her immediate priorities following the win.

“I called my daughter and said: ‘How would you feel if I told you I was going to pay your mortgage?’” she said. “My son didn’t believe me at first, he had to check the ticket himself. They were both thrilled for me.”

The other winning ticket holder, a man from the lower North Island, has not released further details about how he plans to use his share of the Powerball prize.

This recent Powerball jackpot marks one of the largest wins of the year, maintaining Lotto NZ’s pattern of frequent large payouts in 2025. According to the lottery organization, these two wins bring the year-to-date total of Powerball multi-millionaires to 11. The odds of winning Powerball First Division in New Zealand remain approximately one in 38 million per line.

Lotto NZ encourages all players to check their tickets and claim prizes through authorized channels. The organization continues to emphasize responsible gambling practices as participation increases around large jackpot events.
