Anaya Bangar, Formerly Aryan Bangar, Returns to Cricket After Gender Transition

Anaya Bangar, daughter of former Indian cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar, has recently shared a viral video of herself playing cricket, showcasing powerful shots and solid technique. Earlier known as Aryan Bangar, she underwent a gender transition in the UK and is now a transgender woman.

In the video posted on Instagram, Anaya is seen confidently batting, hitting straight drives and big shots, captioning it: "Back to where it all started." Fans have praised her cricketing skills and welcomed her return to the sport.

Anaya’s cricketing journey began playing for local clubs in Mumbai and Lancashire, and she represented Mumbai at the Under-16 level alongside players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Mushir Khan.

Recently, Anaya appealed to the BCCI and ICC to reconsider policies regarding transgender athletes in cricket, advocating for inclusion in women’s cricket based on scientific eligibility.
