2024 truly proved to be the year of TV, with another impeccable season of The Traitors, Baby Reindeer taking the nation by storm, Gavin and Stacey and Outnumbered both returning for a Christmas special, and Mr Bates vs The Post Office sparking political change.
And though we're only halfway through the year, 2025 has certainly not disappointed.
Celebrity Traitors may have yet to air, with another season of Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity to ensure the second part of the TV year lives up to expectations.
Meanwhile, fans are patiently waiting for The Real Housewives of London to drop, while we still have months to go before the Harry Potter TV series makes its way to screens.
But in the meantime, here are the five biggest shows of the year so far to binge now.
AdolescenceAdolescence became a terrifying phenomenon when it aired earlier this year.
Starring Line of Duty's Stephen Graham, Top Boy actor Ashley Walters and Owen Cooper in his debut role, the four-part drama - with each episode shot in one take - revealed the radicalisation of young boys on the internet and the dangers of the misogynistic content they're exposed to.
It was viewed more than 24,000,000 times in just one week and scored 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Owen starring as 13-year-old Jamie Cooper, a boy accused of murder of a girl in his class. The question wasn't if he did it, but why, as parents, psychologists, and the police questioned his rage-fuelled actions.
The series was inspired by real-life knife attacks and acts of violence against women following incel culture ideologies, and caused calls for it to be shown in all schools, echoed by Sir Keir Starmer.
The White Lotus season threeAfter a long wait, Mike White's black comedy The White Lotus returned for a third season, this time filmed in Thailand.
Despite the drama on screen, much of the focus surrounding the murder-mystery turned towards its behind-the-scenes drama, as fans noticed an apparent rift between members of the cast and Jason Isaacs speaking out several times about friendships being "lost" and filming being like "an open prison camp".
Nonetheless, the eight-parter still proved to be a hit, with HBO saying each episode hit a viewing high.
Like the two previous seasons, it followed the dynamics of elite holidaymakers on a luxury retreat, all with their own sets of issues - friends reuniting after life kept them apart, secrets within couples, financial problems, parenting, and age-gaps in relationships.
The A-list cast included Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood.
SeveranceSeverance returned this year with a bang, starring Adam Scott as Mark Scout, one employee among many who undergoes a procedure separating his work life with his personal life.
The former (the innies) and the latter (the outies) have no recollection of one another or link to each other anymore, but when the boundaries between work and life begin to blur as the outside world overlaps with Mark's professional life, secrets and truths begin to emerge.
The first season aired in 2022, and instantly became a huge fan-favourite, scoring 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the second season followed in its footsteps, with a 95% rating.
Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror brought us six new episodes this year, for a thrilling seventh season.
The sci-fi anthology series took things a step further with the new installments.
"Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional," Brooker previously teased to Netflix Tudum.
He added: "They're all sci-fi stories - there's definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way. There's definitely some disturbing content in it."
Squid Game season threeFollowing the cliff-hanger at the end of season two, Squid Game season three has just launched.
Picking up from where Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) is trapped inside Squid Game after a failed rebellion, the third installment follows the aftermath of the bloody battle between the players and the red-suited anonymous soldiers.
The synopsis teases: "Although Gi-hun is at his lowest point yet, the Squid Game stops for no one. So Gi-hun will be forced to make some important choices in the face of overwhelming despair as he and the surviving players are thrust into deadlier games that test everyone's resolve. With each round, their choices lead to increasingly grave consequences."
Although it has only just launched, critics are calling Squid Game season three as "unhinged as ever", "more shocking" and "a fitting conclusion".
