เมื่อวันที่ 30 มิ.ย.68 นางสาวแพทองธาร ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี โพสต์ข้อความผ่านเฟซบุ๊กส่วนตัว "Ing Shinawatra" ระบุว่า ดิฉันรู้สึกเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งที่ได้หารือทางโทรศัพท์กับท่านเอมานูว์แอล มาครง ประธานาธิบดีสาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศส เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นถึงการสานต่อและกระชับความร่วมมือทุกมิติ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งด้านเทคโนโลยีอวกาศ กลาโหม และพลังงานสะอาด เพื่อยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ของไทย-ฝรั่งเศสไปสู่ความเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ ที่ต่างยึดมั่นในคุณค่าร่วมกันในการส่งเสริมการค้าเสรีระหว่างประเทศและระเบียบโลกที่ตั้งอยู่บนกติการะหว่างประเทศ

ดิฉันได้เน้นย้ำบทบาทเชิงรุกของไทยในการส่งเสริมความเป็นแกนกลางของอาเซียน รวมถึงความมุ่งมั่นของไทยในการแก้ไขปัญหาอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการหลอกลวงทางออนไลน์ ซึ่งเป็นภัยคุกคามที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อหลายประเทศทั่วโลก รวมถึงได้ย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของไทยที่จะหารือกับฝ่ายกัมพูชาเพื่อหาทางออกของปัญหาชายแดนด้วยสันติวิธีผ่านกลไกทวิภาคีที่มีอยู่ ซึ่งประธานาธิบดีมาครงแสดงความเข้าใจในท่าทีดังกล่าวของไทยและพร้อมให้การสนับสนุน
ดิฉันยังได้ขอบคุณฝรั่งเศสที่สนับสนุนไทยในการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย-สหภาพยุโรป และการสมัครเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทย ซึ่งจะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ระยะยาวแก่ทั้งสองฝ่าย 

และดิฉันได้ใช้โอกาสนี้เชิญประธานาธิบดีมาครงเยือนไทยอย่างเป็นทางการในช่วงเวลาที่สองฝ่ายเห็นว่าเหมาะสม โดยประธานาธิบดีมาครงก็ได้เชิญดิฉันเยือนฝรั่งเศสเช่นกันค่ะ 🇹🇭🇫🇷

Honoured to have a telephone discussion with President Emmanuel Macron of France to exchange views on enhancing cooperation in all dimensions, particularly on defence, space technology and clean energy, with the view to elevating our relations to a strategic partnership, where both our nations stand firm on a common values on open international trade and a rules-based international order
I also took the opportunity to reiterate Thailand’s proactive role in supporting ASEAN centrality, as well as our efforts in combating transnational crimes, particularly online scam, which remain a pressing global challenge. I reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to engaging in dialogue with Cambodia with a view to seeking a peaceful and mutually acceptable solution through existing bilateral mechanisms. President Macron expressed his understanding of Thailand’s position and expressed readiness to render his support.
I expressed appreciation for France’s support for Thailand in the Thai-EU FTA negotiations and our accession to the OECD — initiatives that will yield long-term benefits to both sides. 
I to extended an invitation to President Macron to pay an official visit to Thailand at a mutually convenient time, and President Macron, in turn, extended a reciprocal invitation for me to visit France as well. 🇹🇭🇫🇷
