Also, there may be rain with thunder at some places in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these districts.

On July 2, heavy rain is expected at one or two places in the west and west-central parts of the state, especially in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj and Siwan. On July 3, there is a forecast of rain and strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms in Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Madhubani, Kaimur, Rohtas and Aurangabad districts. Waterlogging and traffic may be affected in these areas.

Monsoon conditions

At present, the monsoon trough line is spread across Sri Ganganagar, Delhi, Fatehgarh, Sidhi, Jamshedpur and West Bengal to the Bay of Bengal. The low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal and the area adjoining Jharkhand is slowly moving towards west-northwest. Due to this, rainfall activities will continue in most of the districts of the state for the next few days.

weather department warning

The Meteorological Department has advised people living in the districts of southern and western Bihar to remain alert. In view of the possibility of strong winds and lightning, instructions have been given to stay away from open fields, tall trees and electric poles. Heavy rains can increase the water level of rivers, which can lead to flood-like situations.

Problems like waterlogging in urban areas, damage to kutcha houses and temporary structures and traffic jams may occur. Farmers have been advised to avoid working in the fields for the time being and not to spray pesticides or fertilizers.
