Bigg Boss 18 fame Karan Veer Mehra has commenced the shoot of his upcoming big-screen venture, Silaa, which is a romantic-action drama helmed by Omung Kumar. Karan, who gained popularity on the reality show, features as the villain of the movie, which also has Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia Khateeb, and Ipsitaa in crucial roles.

Mahurat Shot Kicks Off Filming
Karan posted pictures from the mahurat shot on July 1, indicating the commencement of the shoot. The first picture is of Karan and director Omung Kumar holding a clapperboard, followed by other snaps with co-stars Harshvardhan, Sadia, and Ipsitaa. Karan wrote, “Thank you for all the love and blessings #Silaa #newbeginnings #film Captain @omungkumar.”

Some celebrity and friend support came through as well, such as Chum Darang, Karan’s Bigg Boss 18 co-contestant, who said, “Best wishes! Break a leg!!! You the best!” Simple Kaul, Raghav Juyal, and Shilpa Shirodkar also wished him luck in the comments.

A day prior, the creators announced the first-look poster of Silaa, showcasing its lead actors and dark tone. Posted by Harshvardhan Rane on Instagram, the poster features him and Sadia Khateeb injured and bloodied, engulfed in intense flames teasing a dark, emotional story. “Dive into the hauntingly beautiful world of #SILAA where love meets redemption,” he captioned it.
