Ayushmann Khurrana is set to headline the much-anticipated sequel Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, and the film has now locked its leading ladies. Sara Ali Khan is officially confirmed, while Wamiqa Gabbi has been finalized as the second female lead, according to PeepingMoon.com.

Wamiqa Gabbi, praised for her roles in Jubilee and Baby John, will play the “patni” (wife), while Sara steps in as the “woh” (girlfriend) in this quirky romantic comedy. Ayushmann will portray a middle-class man whose life spirals out of control as he juggles marriage and temptation, a role previously played by Kartik Aaryan in the 2019 hit film.

The sequel brings a fresh dynamic with Ayushmann, Wamiqa, and Sara forming a new love triangle. The makers aimed for “fresh romantic pairings with strong comic timing” and found this trio to be the perfect match.

A Bold New Take on the Franchise
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, who helmed the first film, Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 will not be a direct continuation but a standalone story. While the original was a remake of the 1978 classic, the sequel will feature an original plot told more from a female perspective.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Juno Chopra’s B.R. Studios, the film is expected to go on floors in August, with a tight two-month shooting schedule.

Busy Schedules for All Three Stars
Ayushmann will next promote his Diwali release Thama and then start Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama with Sharvari. Wamiqa’s upcoming projects include Bhoot Bangla, Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, and Goodachari 2. Sara is set to appear in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino and will also reunite with Ayushmann in Dharma Productions’ spy comedy, slated for release later this year.
