Today, Instagram is not just a social media platform, but has become a part of the identity, brand, and business of millions of people. But as its use has increased, cases of Instagram hacking have also started coming to the fore. If your Instagram account ever gets hacked, there is no need to panic. By following some easy steps, you can recover your account and also secure it again.

How to identify that Instagram has been hacked?
If Instagram gets hacked, you get some signs. Like the account getting logged out automatically, getting notifications to change the login email or password, uploading posts or stories without your permission, changing email and mobile number automatically, and sending spam messages to friends. If anything like this is happening, then understand that your Instagram account is in danger or has been hacked.

What to do if an Instagram account is hacked?
If you can log in, then first change the password. For this, you have to go to Settings and click on the Security option. After this, go to the Password option and change the password.

Respond to the 'Was This You?' alert
If Instagram has sent you an email about suspicious activity and asked Was this you?, then select No, it wasn't me from there and follow the guide. If you are unable to log in, then use the 'Get Help Logging In' feature. For this, enter the email, username, or phone number. Instagram will send you a recovery link.

Recover from email
If the hacker has changed the password but not the email, Instagram will send a Suspicious Login Attempt email. You can recover your account with the link given in it.

Verify your account. If nothing works, go to Instagram support. Proof of identity will be required for account recovery, such as a profile photo, username, email, etc. In many cases, Instagram asks you for a selfie video so that your identity can be confirmed.

How to prevent Instagram from being hacked again?

Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This will require a code on every login, which will come to your phone. Do not give access to any unknown apps. Remove unnecessary third-party access. Keep your email secure, too. The email linked to Instagram also needs to be secure. Turn on 2FA in that too. Many times fake links looking like Instagram are sent in DM or email. Do not enter login details by clicking on them.
