In the Imphal Valley districts of Manipur, security forces have apprehended three militants associated with various banned organizations, as reported by the police on Thursday.
On Wednesday, a member of the prohibited PREPAK (Pro) group was arrested in the Bishnupur district's Maithram area. The individual has been identified as Oinam Hemanjeet Singh.
Additionally, a militant linked to the banned 'Kangleipak Communist Party' (PWG) was captured in the Sekmaijin Maning Leikai area of Imphal East district.
The arrested militant has been identified as Oinam Tomba Singh, 57, who was involved in extortion activities at several petrol stations in the Kakching and Thoubal districts.
Furthermore, on Wednesday, police apprehended another PWG member in Kakching district's Elang Khangpokpi Awang Leikai, identified as Lourembam Suresh, 47.
Meanwhile, security forces seized a .303 rifle, two 9mm pistols with magazines, a single-barrel 12-bore shotgun, four grenades, a wireless set with a charger, and two detonators from the foothills of Andro Khuman (Baruni Hill) in Imphal East district.
