Two Emmerdale legends are set to end up in hospital in shocking scenes that sees one of them collapse at the wheel. Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Sarah Sugden's (Katie Hill) lives will be put into danger as Gabby puts her body image before everything else on the ITV soap.

Upcoming scenes will see the bride-to-be stressing about fitting into a dress for her engagement do, meaning that she ditches food and drinks, and endless amounts of coffee instead. The character, who is set to tie the knot with fiancé Vinny (Bradley Johnson), is currently on a crash diet to fit into a dress she accidentally ordered in the wrong size. Meanwhile, at the garage, Sarah offers to join her for a diagnostic drive to find out what the issue is with her vehicle. As Gabby and Sarah drive down country lanes, suddenly, Gabby feels woozy and faints at the wheel.

Luckily, Sarah's quick thinking helps to save their lives, as she stretches across to bring the vehicle to a stop - but at a cost as the move leaves her in agony, as she is still fragile from her recent hysterectomy. However, she still manages to get them both to hospital but the pair are both in bad shape when they arrive at A&E.

Rosie told the press: "She's drinking a hell of a lot of coffee as per Bradley Riches' character, Lewis, he recommends coffee to kind of get things moving.

"So she's drinking a hell of a lot of coffee, doing lots and lots of exercise. Filling her time with that and neglecting any mothering duties she's got and just putting exercise to the front of her mind.

"Thankfully there's no crash, but Sarah really injures herself so that creates a lot more complications for her."

She added: "At the hospital, Gabby is diagnosed with low blood sugar. The women in her life tell her how ridiculous it is she's risking her health and her life for one day, one dress. Then Vinny comes in and talks some sense into her. It solidifies their desire to get married and put their priorities right."

Vinny and Gabby announced their engagement in April. It left Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) very surprised, as they both feared it was too early in their relationship to decide they wanted to become husband and wife.
