Honda Enters the EV Market With Activa e 2025, After dominating the petrol scooter segment for decades, Honda has finally stepped into the electric two-wheeler space with the much-awaited Activa e 2025. Designed to carry forward the legacy of the iconic Activa, this electric version brings a fresh approach to urban mobility while retaining the trust, simplicity, and comfort that the Activa badge is known for. With the electric revolution picking up pace in India, Honda’s entry marks a major milestone in the mainstream adoption of EVs.
The Honda Activa e 2025 carries forward the classic silhouette of the petrol Activa but introduces modern EV elements such as sleek LED lighting, a closed front grille, and blue EV highlights across the body. It retains the upright, comfortable stance and spacious footboard while adopting new alloy wheels and aerodynamic enhancements. The scooter looks premium yet familiar, offering a smooth transition for long-time Activa users.
The digital instrument cluster has also been updated, offering a fully digital display with real-time battery stats, range estimation, riding mode indicators, and smartphone connectivity features like call and SMS alerts.
One of the key features of the Activa e 2025 is its removable lithium-ion battery, making home charging as convenient as using a smartphone. Honda is also developing a battery-swapping network in key cities, allowing users to exchange drained batteries for charged ones in minutes. The battery offers an estimated range of 120–130 km on a full charge and supports fast charging, reaching 80% in under 1.5 hours.
This flexibility gives the Activa e an edge over competitors in urban areas where home charging or dedicated parking may be a concern.
Powering the Activa e is a mid-mounted electric motor tuned for smooth acceleration and efficient power delivery. The scooter supports three riding modes — Eco, Normal, and Power — each adjusting speed and throttle response based on usage. In Eco mode, users can extract maximum range, while Power mode enhances acceleration for quick overtakes and urban maneuvering.
The scooter is engineered for a top speed of around 75 km/h, making it ideal for city rides and short commutes without compromising on safety or stability.
The Activa e 2025 is integrated with Honda’s Smart Eco system, which includes features like Geo-fencing, remote immobilizer, ride history, and live location tracking via the connected mobile app. These features not only add convenience but also enhance safety in case of theft or emergencies.
For braking, the scooter comes with combi-brake system (CBS) and optional disc brake variants, ensuring confident stopping power even in traffic. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in the front and a mono-shock at the rear, promising a comfortable ride over potholes and rough roads.
Honda is expected to launch the Activa e 2025 officially in late 2024 or early 2025, with pricing expected to start from around ₹1,10,000 to ₹1,20,000 (ex-showroom). The scooter will be available across Honda’s wide dealership network, with dedicated EV experience zones in metro cities.
Government subsidies under FAME-II and state-level EV policies may further reduce the on-road price, making the Activa e a highly competitive offering in the electric scooter segment.
