Both sisters come from artistically gifted families. After winning the title of Miss India in 1993, Namrata became well-known thanks to Bollywood songs like 'Vaastav' and 'Pukar'. With iconic films like 'Khuda Gawah' and 'Hum', Shilpa forged her own path in the 1990s. She then landed TV parts like Zed TV's 'Ek Mutthi Aasmaan.'

Namrata met Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in 2000 on the sets of the Telugu film 'Vamsi.' Despite a four-year age difference, they developed a strong bond and began dating shortly after. Their relationship was kept private for several years. Eventually, the couple married on February 10, 2005, in Mumbai in a traditional Telugu ceremony.

After marriage, Namrata stepped back from her acting career to focus on family life. The couple has two children, a son named Gautam and a daughter named Sitara.

Speaking of Mahesh Babu's work front, he is working with ace director SS Rajamouli on the tentatively named 'SSMB29'. The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles.
