Lucknow. Taking an important decision, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the proposed Bangladesh tour in September 2025. In this tour, India had to play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Bangladesh, but the tour has been postponed in view of the busy international cricket series of the two countries.
Decision taken with mutual consent
The BCCI and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to postpone the tour after mutual discussion. It is being told that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the conflict in the schedule of both teams and the workload of the players. A senior BCCI official said that we have taken this decision with BCB so that this series can be held at a better time in future.
Bangladesh is excited about India’s host in 2026
In this regard, the Bangladesh Cricket Board also issued a statement saying that we are excited to host India and will now plan for this tour in 2026. Three-three ODIs and T20 matches were to be played in cities like Dhaka, Chittagong, Silhat, Khulna and Bogura in this series to be held in the first two weeks of September. But now this series can be again decided in 2026.
Disappointment among cricket lovers, but intelligent step
This decision may have been a little disappointed with the cricket lovers, but experts believe that this is a wise move given the health of the players and the pressure of the cricket series. It is noteworthy that Team India’s busyness in September will be in the Asia Cup, World Test Championship and home season preparations.
Now the cricket world is eyeing 2026, when this much awaited series between the two countries can be held again. Due to good relationships between BCCI and BCB, it is believed that a new program of the series will be prepared soon.
