Health Desk. Viagra, scientifically called sildenafil, is a drug mainly used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence). However, some people take it incorrectly to increase sexual performance or lengthen the duration of bliss. But can it be fatal to take more viagra? The answer to this question is based on medical science and opinion of specialist doctors.
How does Viagra work?
Viagra extends blood flow to the penis by spreading blood vessels in the body, which helps in erection. This drug works only during sexual stimulation and there is no permanent treatment. Usually doctors recommend a dose of 25 to 100 mg, which is fixed as per the age, health and requirement of the person.
Excessive intake risk:
According to doctors, excessive intake of Viagra can cause many serious side effects in the body. Taking a large amount of Viagra can cause blood pressure to fall very fast, causing fainting, heart failure or brain damage. Especially in heart patients, taking more viagra can increase the risk of heart attack. In many cases, more viagra has reduced a sudden vision or hearing power, which can sometimes be permanent.
Danger of death:
Experts believe that excessive amounts of Viagra (eg 200mg or more), especially if taken without medical advice and with any other drugs (such as nitrates), it can make the heart speed unusual, which can lead to death.
Doctors’ opinion:
Dr. Ajay Aggarwal (Cardiologist) says: “Viagra is a safe medicine, but only when it is taken with the advice of a doctor. Increasing the dose or repeatedly can be fatal. Especially patients with heart disease should be very alert.”
Dr. Neeta Verma (Urologist) says that “We get many patients who take Viagra on the advice of internet or friends. It is dangerous, because every person’s body reacts separately.” Therefore, consume Viagra only on doctor’s advice.
