Amritsar’s gift of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, inauguration of crores of projects

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has given a big gift of development to the people of Amritsar. On Saturday, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects costing about Rs 346.57 crore. This includes the construction and repair of roads to the installation of modern library.

Construction of new roads in Amritsar at a cost of Rs 56.36 crore

The Chief Minister has informed that new roads have been constructed in Amritsar at a cost of Rs 56.36 crore, while the road network has been upgraded with Rs 287.01 crore. These works have been completed with the help of Punjab Mandi Board and Public Works Department.

Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is working on strengthening the contact roads in the whole of Punjab. Till now, 64,878 km of roads in the state were repaired every six years, but now the government has included the repair of these roads as well as maintenance of the next five years in the plan. He called it a historical decision.

Big step towards educational development

A big step has also been taken towards the educational development of the city. The Chief Minister informed that six new libraries have been built at a cost of Rs 3.20 crore. In these modern libraries, computers, internet, high quality books and content for competitive exams have been provided.

Two old library Chheharta and old DC office library of Amritsar West Assembly constituency have been renewed at a cost of Rs 32.58 lakh and Rs 31.41 lakh. At the same time, a new library has been built in Amritsar North, Central, East and South Assembly constituencies, which cost Rs 64 lakh per library.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these libraries will inspire students to move forward in better education and competitive environment and make a way to their bright future.
