Reuters x account blocked in India: The official X account of the news agency Reuters in India has been blocked. On this, the central government has clarified that this step has not been taken on its behalf and this is the fault of Elon Musk -owned company X. The government says that it has not instructed to block the Reuters handle and now it is working with X in this matter towards a solution.
According to government sources, this blocking is due to an old order, which is now implemented X’s mistake. This order was given in the month of May during Operation Sindoor, but was not implemented at that time. Now that the situation is not relevant, the government has asked X to rectify this mistake immediately.
It was said by the government, "There was no need from the Government of India to block the Reuters handle. We are engaged in solving this problem together with X." The government has sought clarification on this blocking and instructed X to immediately lift the ban.
According to the PTI report, in May 2024, a legal order was given to block several X accounts under Operation Sindoor, including Reuters. However, at that time the account of the Reuters was not blocked and he was normally employed. Now it seems that X has now implemented the same old order, which the government has currently described as irrelevant.
PTI, quoting the government official, said, "An order was issued on 7 May but was not implemented then. The X has now implemented the order which is their fault. The government is in touch with X to resolve this issue soon."
Reuters’ main @reuters handle and @reutersworld are no longer visible in India. But other handles such as @REUTERSTECH, @Rutersia, @Rutersfactcheck and @reuterschina can still be accessed in the country.
On X when users try to open the reater handle, a message appears, "The account was stopped. @Reuters have been stopped in IND in response to legal demand."
In the aid page of x "Materials stopped by the country" The title has been told that when an account or post is blocked under law in a country, then this message is shown. This means that a valid legal order, such as court instructions or local laws, has been blocked, content or account has been blocked.
