Haridwar, July 6: In a significant achievement, Patanjali today launched a new product called Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling, based on the traditional Ayurvedic technique of "Gandush" or oil pulling, which is considered an essential part of daily routine (Dinacharya) in Ayurveda.
The grand launch was conducted by Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, and senior members of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Uttarakhand Chapter — President Dr. Rajeev Bansal, Secretary Dr. Vishwajit Walia, and Treasurer Dr. Vaibhav Pahwa. The event was not just the release of a new product but also a step toward reviving a lost daily tradition of Ayurveda.
On the occasion, Swami Ramdev said this was a new milestone in the field of yoga and Ayurveda. He emphasized that Patanjali is promoting not only healthcare but also India's rich culture, traditions, and scientific heritage. He stated that people today have forgotten how to manage and cooperate with their own bodies, and Patanjali is helping to teach this through yoga and Ayurveda. This dental product shows that India’s ancient wisdom is still relevant today.
Acharya Balkrishna added that this product is the result of three years of dedicated research by scientists at Patanjali Research Institute. He explained that "Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling" is not just a routine activity but a form of medicinal science. Classical Ayurvedic texts like the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita have mentioned Gandush as an important method for oral care. In today’s world, where dental issues are common, this product offers a natural, safe, and effective solution. It is the latest innovation in Patanjali’s Dant Kanti range.
He also detailed the key ingredients:
Toomburu oil strengthens teeth and gums.
Clove oil helps relieve tooth pain.
Peppermint oil eliminates bad breath.
Eucalyptus oil has antibacterial properties that control bacterial growth.
Basil (Tulsi) oil prevents decay and infections due to its germ-killing nature.
Acharya Balkrishna mentioned that Patanjali will soon make a complete range of evidence-based dental products available to the public and bring back Ayurveda’s lost glory.
Dr. Vishwajit Walia, Secretary of the Indian Dental Association (Uttarakhand), praised the efforts of Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna in promoting health through yoga and Ayurveda. He stated that Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling is a scientifically validated Ayurvedic formulation that will be highly effective against pyorrhea and other dental diseases. He appreciated the ongoing research at Patanjali Research Foundation.
The grand event was attended by several dignitaries including Dr. Rajeev Bansal (IDA Uttarakhand President), Dr. Vaibhav Pahwa (Treasurer), Dr. Kuldeep Singh (Head of Dental Department at Patanjali Hospital and Secretary, IDA Haridwar), Dr. Anurag Varshney (Vice President and Chief Scientist, Patanjali Research Institute), Dr. Gurpreet Oberoi (Treasurer, IDA Haridwar), and many renowned dentists from Uttarakhand.
All dental professionals present praised the product as a timely and relevant solution for modern oral health challenges.
Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling is not just a step toward better oral hygiene but also part of Patanjali’s mission to present India’s Vedic knowledge through scientific innovation on a global platform.
