If you use e-SIM in your phone, then obviously this question must have come to your mind: what should be done if the e-SIM is deleted? This may have already happened to you. Anyway, do not panic, today we will guide you step by step on what to do in any such situation. Before that, let us understand what an e-SIM is.

What is e-SIM

E-SIM is the electronic version of the SIM card installed in your phone. This means that it is a SIM card, but it is physically installed in the phone and installed in the phone as software. To use e-SIM in your phone, your phone must support e-SIM. Modern 5G phones usually support e-SIM. Now let's come to the point that if by mistake or due to any other reason, such as resetting the phone, the e-SIM gets deleted from the phone, then how can it be retrieved?

This is how you can get your e-SIM back.
If you are thinking that it will be as easy as downloading an app, then sorry, you are wrong. E-SIM is also connected to your ID, and companies take strict precautions regarding it. Because of this, to get your e-SIM back, you will have to go to your service provider's store. Before the store, you will have to get your physical SIM reissued. The SMS service will be closed for 24 hours after the physical SIM is issued. This is done for the safety of the customer. After 24 hours, when the SMS service starts, you will be able to start the process of converting your SIM into an e-SIM.

How to convert
If you are using a Jio SIM, then:

For this, you have to go to the official website of Jio.

After that, go to the eSIM section. For e-SIM, you will have to verify your email ID.

For this, first enter the email ID and then enter the OTP received on your email ID. This will verify the email ID.
Now you have to enter your Email ID and EID number. Click on Proceed.

Once again, OTP will come for verification. Enter it.

For confirmation, you will get a phone call from +91 2235072222. Pick up the call and listen carefully.

To process the eSIM request, listen to the call and give confirmation accordingly.

If you are unable to pick up the call, send a message by typing RECALL to 199.

If you are using an Airtel SIM, then:

Send SMS from your Airtel number to 121 by writing "eSIM ".

You will get an SMS from 121, reply to it with '1'. This will confirm that you have sent the request for e-SIM.

After this, you will get another SMS from 121, in which you will be asked to agree to the call to confirm your eSIM request.

After giving consent, you will get one last SMS from 121! Now you will be asked to scan the QR code received on the email.

Now go to your phone settings. Go to "Mobile Networks" or "Connections", then select "eSIM" or "Add Data Plan" option. Here you will get the option to scan the QR code.

Scan the QR code and activate your Airtel eSIM.
