Carole Middleton shares sweet moment with little-known royal at Wimbledon

Carole Middleton was all smiles yesterday as she stepped out with her husband Michael at Wimbledon. Princess Kate's parents, who attended the tournament on Monday without their daughter, appeared thrilled to be at the event as they watched the games from the Royal Box.

As well as talking to each other and those around them, one sweet moment between Carole, 70, and a lesser-known royal was caught on camera at the event. This was when the Duchess of Gloucester approached Carole in her seat to give a warm greeting.

In pictures taken of the moment, the Duchess, can be seen sharing a quick hug and greeting kiss with Princess Kate's mum, with the pair looking delighted to see one another.

It is not known how many times they have met before, but the two women seemed comfortable in one another's company.

This sent royal fans into a frenzy on X, with many praising the sweet interaction.

One fan wrote: "Love this!"

Another said: "The Princess of Wales's mother Carole Middleton's warm relationship with The Duchess of Gloucester speaks volumes of how Catherine has a huge support network and great relationship with Prince William's family."

Someone else commented: "They seem like good friends, that's great."

A fourth wrote: "How absolutely lovely! It's family, after all!"

Princess Kate, who is royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is yet to step out at Wimbledon this year, with the competition now into its second week.

Only a few royals have been present at the tournament so far, with Duchess Sophie, Sarah Ferguson and Princess Beatrice being some of the main to attend.King Frederik of Denmark was also spotted at the tournament this week.
