Manchester United are in ongoing negotiations with Brentford over their pursuit of striker Bryan Mbeumo, according to reports. Despite having two previous offers rejected, the Red Devils remain hopeful of securing a deal for their priority transfer target.
Brentford turned down United's initial £55million bid for Mbeumo, as well as a second offer of £62.5m - the same amount paid for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. According to the Mirror, United need to up their bid to £65m to reach an agreement, with discussions continuing over the fee and payment structure.
It's claimed that Ruben Amorim wants to have Mbeumo join his squad ahead of the club's three-game pre-season tour of the United States on 22 July.
They will face West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton during visits to New Jersey, Atlanta and Chicago.
United have already secured the signatures of Cunha and young defender Diego Leon, and are optimistic about adding Mbeumo to their ranks within the next week, as part of Amorim's ongoing squad overhaul.

United will focus on bolstering their striker options once their pursuit of Mbeumo is over. Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike is among the potential No. 9 targets.
Amorim has already missed out on two top candidates, with Liam Delap joining Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres nearing a move to Arsenal.
United have been offered the services of former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is currently a free agent after his contract with the Toffees expired at the end of last season.

The club is also planning to part ways with several players deemed surplus to requirements, including Marcus Rashford.
Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho have also been instructed to steer clear of training after expressing their desire to leave the club.
United will now endeavour to locate potential buyers for these five players in an effort to generate additional funds for Amorim's transfer market operations.
