Gregg Wallace is said to be facing 50 new complaints from women over his alleged misconduct, BBC News claims. On Tuesday (July 8), the TV presenter was sacked from the culinary show MasterChef following the result on an investigation into alleged misconduct, the broadcaster claims. These fresh claims of misconduct working with the TV presenter include allegations that he groped one MasterChef worker and pulled his trousers down in front of another staff member. Wallace has denied these claims.

The inquiry into the allegations against him, which was conducted by an independent firm on behalf of MasterChef's production company Banijay, is expected to release a statement imminently. The new allegations come just days before the publication of a report on the separate claims made last year. The claims were made as Wallace admitted to using inappropriate language but claimed to have been cleared of "the most serious and sensational accusations made against me."

In a statement on social media, the former BBC presenter said he has since been diagnosed with autism which he claims was discussed across "countless seasons of MasterChef" and was given no protection.

The TV presenter repeatedly attacked the BBC in a furious Instagram post, insisting: "I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by the media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established. the full story of this incredibly injustice must be told and it ia very much a matter of public interest.

"I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks."

For the past two decades, Gregg - who was rushed to hospital for a suspected "heart attack" on Sunday (July 6) - has been one of the most high-profile presenters presenters on British television and has been the face of the beloved BBC One cooking show MasterChef.

But last November, he stepped aside from the BBC show after an initial investigation into his alleged misconduct when 13 people accused him of making inappropriate sexual comments.

Among his accusers is the presenter Kirsty Wark, who was a Celebrity MasterChef contestant in 2011. She alleged that Wallace told "sexualised" joked while filming the culinary show.

The new claims come from people who claim they encountered him across a wide range of show and settings. While the majority of the claims mafe against him are inappropriate sexual comments, 11 women have accused him of inappropriate sexual behaviour such as groping and touching.

These new allegations raise fresh questions for the BBC and the other companies he worked with across his career about their safeguarding practices and duty of care.

One of these new allegations were claims that Wallace took his trousers down in front of a woman in a dressing room, which one person described as "disgusting and predatory". They worked on MasterChef between 2011 and 2013. At the time, it was produced by Shine, a company now owned by Banijay.

She claimed to have reported the incident but was told by senior staff: "You're over 16. You're not being Jimmy Saviled." A participant on Saturday Kitchen also claimed that during a 2002 dinner before filming, Wallace put his hand on her groin, saying: "Do you like that?"

The BBC has also reported that a 19-year-old MasterChef worker had tried to complain in 2022 about Wallace's comments on her body.

A BBC spokesperson said: "Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published."

Banijay is not commenting on the report until it has been officially published. Following his departure from the BBC show, food critic Grace Dent replaced the disgraced greengrocer for the following series.
