Royal fans were delighted when the Duchess of Gloucester took an important role during French President Macron's State Visit to the UK. Danish-born Birgitte, who is married to Prince Richard, attended a banquet at Guildhall on Wednesday evening, which was hosted by the Lord Mayor and City of London Corporation, on the second day of the President's visit.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were the only royals to represent the Royal Family at the glamorous event. Birgitte dazzled in a white quarter-sleeved gown and one of her favourite tiaras, Queen Mary's Honeysuckle tiara.
She also sported the sash of the Order of the Garter and the Royal Family Orders of King Charles and Queen Elizabeth.
The Duchess's jewellery included the rest of Queen Mary's kunzite (pink topaz) jewellery set, diamond earrings, a diamond brooch to the front of the dress and two other diamond brooches on the back and various diamond bracelets, as well as a pink topaz bangle.
Royal fans fell in love with Birgitte's look and praised her for her sartorial choice on Wednesday, as well as her appearance on Tuesday's glittering state banquet in Windsor.
One user wrote on X: "In my opinion, Duchess of Gloucester was the best dressed of all the royals. Her gown fit was perfect & jewels spectacular, all in good taste." On Tuesday, the Duchess chose another piece from Queen Mary's collection for her jewellery, the Turquoise set, which consisted of tiara, a necklace, a pair of earrings and a brooch.
Various fans said it was the best tiara of the night, with one fan writing on Instagram: "Impeccable and elegant and quietly regal, as always!"
Another one opined: "I love the Queen in the sapphires, but that turquoise set is simply stunning." A third one wrote: "The Duchess of Gloucester's turquoise tiara was my favourite, it is stunning!"
