Jasprit Bumrah was the star on Day 2 claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul to help dismiss England for 387 despite a composed 37th Test century from Joe Root. Lower-order resistance from Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) tested India but Bumrah sealed the innings in style earning his name on the Lord’s honours board. In response India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early to a fiery burst from Jofra Archer. KL Rahul (53*) held the innings together with support from Karun Nair (40) who was dismissed via a sharp effort from Stokes and Root.
