Tragedy struck the entertainment world as a longtime music supervisor for “American Idol” and her husband were found dead in their Los Angeles residence on Monday afternoon.
According to police, officers were performing a welfare check at a home in the Encino area when they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victims were identified as 70-year-old Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca. Public records indicate the couple owned the home.
In a statement, a representative from American Idol confirmed Kaye’s passing and paid tribute to her legacy: “Robin had been a valued part of the Idol family since 2009. She was deeply respected and admired by everyone she worked with. Her memory will live on in our hearts, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her loved ones.”
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian in connection with the double homicide.
Investigators allege that Boodarian was attempting to burglarize the couple’s home on July 10 while they were away. Upon their unexpected return, he allegedly shot and killed them before fleeing the scene on foot.
