In the first Test, India did well but dropped the ball in the final inning, allowing England to win the match by five wickets. In the record-breaking Test, captain Shubman Gill broke many records and took the Men in Blue to a massive 336-run win. Then, in the third Test at Lord’s, both sides made the same score in the first inning. Then, chasing 193 in the fourth, India collapsed. Ravindra Jadeja played well with the tail, but the visitors lost the match by 22 runs.

With a 2-1 lead after three games in this five-match series, the Three Lions won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made one change to their side, bringing in spin all-rounder Liam Dawson in for Shoaib Bashir.

Meanwhile, after the loss in the third Test, combined with an injury bug that has hit the team, there are three changes in the squad.

Let’s talk about the Indian Cricket Team’s playing XI in the fourth Test from the start. The opening pair of Yashasvi Jasiwal and KL Rahul remains the same. While the two have made some decent runs in this series, they have not been too consistent. At least Jaiswal hasn’t been.

The first change comes at number three. After failing to make big runs in three Test matches, Karun Nair is now out of the side and has been replaced by Sai Sudharsan, who made his Test debut in the first match of this series and was unceremoniously dropped.

The team will still be captained by Shubman Gill, while vice-captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant holds his position as well, and so does the man who nearly became the hero of the last match, Ravidra Jadeja.

Next comes the second change. As a replacement for an injured Nitish Kumar Reddy, who injured his knee during practice, Shardul Thakur has been brought in, replacing a batting all-rounder with a bowling all-rounder.

At no. 8, Washington Sundar remains in the team. At no. 9, the third and final change in the squad. Pacer Prasidh Krishna has been underwhelming in the first three matches and should have been replaced by Arshdeep Singh. But as Arshdeep suffered an injury during practice as well, pace all-rounder Anshul Kambhoj gets to make his Indian Cricket Team debut.

The pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will also play this match, rounding out the XI.
