Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing a successful neck angioplasty. According to Indian media reports, the procedure was performed as a precautionary measure after doctors discovered that more than 75% of his carotid arteries — the arteries in the neck that supply blood to the brain — were blocked.

The angioplasty was done on medical advice to prevent any serious health complications, such as a stroke. Following the surgery, Rakesh Roshan shared his first photo on social media, informing fans about the procedure. In the caption, he revealed that the blockage was detected during a routine full-body checkup, prompting him to opt for immediate surgery.

Neck angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure carried out to widen narrowed or blocked carotid arteries. This medical intervention is typically recommended for individuals at risk of strokes or transient ischemic attacks (mini-strokes), which can occur due to restricted blood flow to the brain.

The goal of the angioplasty is to improve blood flow and significantly reduce the risk of future neurological complications. Roshan’s decision to undergo the procedure early and his swift recovery have been met with well wishes and support from fans and industry colleagues alike.

Rakesh Roshan is best known for directing and producing several hit films in Bollywood, including the Krrish franchise. His openness about the health procedure has also raised awareness about the importance of routine health screenings and timely preventive measures.
