25 mobile apps were banned, accused of spreading obscenity and breaking laws

25 Indian App Ban by Govt: Ministry of Information and Broadcasting – MIB Has announced a ban on 25 mobile apps to keep the country’s digital environment clean and safe. These apps are alleged to have been spreading obscene, inappropriate and objectionable content and openly violating other laws including the IT Act 2000. In view of today’s time, where people are taking a large extent content, it is not right.

Why this step was taken?

According to the statement made by the government, these apps were broadcasting pornographic content without censorship, which not only raises questions on the morality of the society, but also affects the mental development of youth and children. The MIB source said, “There was no monitoring on these platforms and these were openly serving vulgar videos and web series, which is a legal offense.”

List of banned apps

The 25 apps that have been banned include:

Altt, Ullu, Big Shots App, Desiflix, Boomex, Navarasa Lite, Gulab App, Kangan App, Bull App, Jalva App, Wow Entertainment, Look Entertainment, Hit Prime, FENEO, Showx, Showx, Showx, Showx, Adda Talks, Hotx VIP, Hulchal App, Moodx, Neonx Vip, Showhit, Fugi, Mojflix and TRIFLICS.

Serious allegations on apps

Apps that have been banned have been charged with many types of allegations:

  • Availability of vulgar content without age verification
  • Targeting young users
  • Data privacy and user security ignoring
  • Violation of IT Act and Broadcasting Rules

The government believes that the content on these platforms increased the vulgarity and moral decline in digital space, which has become a threat to social health.

What will happen next?

Like the government, it has been clarified that these apps will now be removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Also, strict action will be taken against those who violate other digital platforms laws. “Clean, law-appointed and moral content on digital platforms is our priority.” Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
