New delhi: Railways deactivated Suspicious Accounts After Detecting Irregular Booking Patterns. Only Aadhaar-Verified Users Can Now Book Tatkal Tickets, Blocking Agents for 30 minutes. This ensures Fair Access and Prevents Black Market Sales.

Indian Railways has taken a major step to improve the ticket booking system and prevent fraud. Railways have deactivated over 2.5 Crore IRCTC User Ids. This information was given by union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav in the Rajya Sabha on 25 July. This action has been taken against against the Suspected User Accounts in which irregular booking patterns was Seen.

Why did the government take such step?

The main objective of this decision of Railways is to Prevent fraud in ticket booking and increase the possibility of Getting Tickets for Common Passengers. It was often seen that tickets used to disappear as soon as the ticket booking open, which caused Trouble for Normal Passengers. To solve this problem, the railways identified and closed suspected accounts through data analysis.

The railway minister said that the irctc has made several improvements in the ticket booking process. Now only aadhaar-varified users will be able to book tatkal tickets. Also, agents have been stopped from booking tatkal tickets for 30 minutes Before Booking Tickets. This will curb the purchase and sale of tickets in the black market, and it will be easy for the common passengers to get tickets.
