Monsoon knocks in Maharashtra: Alert in Konkan, Vidarbha and western parts

The mood of the weather in Maharashtra seems to be changing once again. The rain situation in the Konkan region remains stable at present, while the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in many parts of the state.

Konkan region: Palghar and Raigad are likely to remain cloudy. Light rain showers are possible. The temperature is expected to be between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius. Yellow alert has been issued for Raigad and Ratnagiri districts.

West Maharashtra: Pune, Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts may receive light to moderate rains. Winds are likely to blow at a speed of 20–30 kmph at some places. Farmers have been especially advised to remain alert. A yellow alert has also been issued in the Pune Ghat area.

Marathwada and Vidarbha: Light to moderate rain is expected in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Nagpur and Amravati. Thunderstorms may occur at some places. Rains with strong winds are expected in many districts of Vidarbha. Yellow alert has been issued in Amravati, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Gondia, Nagpur and Wardha districts.

North Maharashtra: Nashik and Jalgaon are likely to remain cloudy, but the intensity of rain will be less.
