Singer Annie Khalid has revealed the heartbreaking reason behind her long absence from the public eye — her seven-year-old daughter, Ayesha, suffered two heart attacks within just 24 hours, putting her life at serious risk.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram along with a video of Ayesha, Annie opened up about the terrifying experience. She wrote that January 23, 2024, is a date forever etched into her soul. Ayesha, who was previously a healthy child, suffered two heart attacks only eight hours apart.

Annie shared that her daughter’s heartbeat suddenly became irregular, and her body stopped receiving oxygen, leading to the failure of multiple organs. Doctors had to put Ayesha on life support, using machines to keep her breathing and maintain blood circulation. She also underwent dialysis as her kidneys stopped functioning.

The singer described the agony of seeing her daughter hooked up to machines, saying she couldn’t stop crying as memories of Ayesha playing joyfully at home haunted her, now replaced with the image of her fighting for her life.

Doctors later informed Annie that due to brain trauma, Ayesha had developed a condition called Peripheral Neuropathywhich would likely leave her unable to walk for the rest of her life.

Despite the grim prognosis, Annie held on to hope and faith. “Where medicine ends, God’s mercy begins,” she wrote, adding that her daughter is nothing short of a miracle. Ayesha is now alive, smiling, laughing, and slowly recovering.

Annie explained her absence by saying that during this difficult period, her entire focus was on being there for her brave, patient, and beautiful daughter. “People kept asking me, ‘Annie, where are you?’ and I would silently answer I’m busy being a mother to a fighter,” she wrote.

In closing, Annie Khalid requested her fans and followers to keep Ayesha in their prayers as she continues her journey of healing and recovery.
