Desk: Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to bring a big gift for buyers on this year’s Independence Day. Domestic Automaker is ready to introduce four new SUV concepts – Vision S, Vision T, Vision SX and Vision SXT with its absolutely new ‘Freedom Nu’ monocococcu platform. On the same day, an absolutely new Mahindra compact SUV will also debut, which is believed to be the new generation Bolero Neo, which will have a completely different body panel and new design language.
The new Mahindra compact SUV is expected to be introduced with two diesel engine options – a 1.2L (which is taken from XUV 3xo) and a 1.5L. The first engine gives 109bhp power and 230nm torque, while the second three-cylinder engine gives 100bhp power and 260Nm torque. While the current Bolero Neo is available only with manual gearbox, this new model is likely to be introduced with both manual and automatic transmission.
Mahindra & Mahindra is also currently working on hybrid powertrain for the Indian market, which has been reported that it will debut on the XUV 3xo subcompact SUV in 2026. The rest of the popular Mahindra SUVs can also be equipped with this new hybrid technology, including the upcoming compact SUV. If launched, the new Mahindra compact SUV with hybrid powertrain will come later. It is worth noting that the car manufacturer has not yet officially described the name of the model and the powertrain details.
Spy images suggest that the new Mahindra compact SUV will take several designs and styling from Thar Rocks such as round headlamps. It will have a new logo of Mahindra, new bumper and fog lamp assembly and more straight nose with different designs. The SUV will also have new flush fitting door handles, new multi-spoke alloy wheels, more prominent body cladding, smaller overhangs, spare wheels on tailgate and new vertical stacked taillamps.
