Cricket News: In the ongoing Test series between India and England, England suffered a major setback on Friday when his star all -rounder Chris Woakes was ruled out of the fifth and last Test match due to a shoulder injury. On Thursday, on the first day of the match at Kia Oval, Karun Nair was strangely hurt in Vox’s left shoulder while trying to stop the ball on the long-off. While going out of the field, Vox was seen groaning with pain, his left hand was wrapped in sweaters. Seeing this, concern increased for the fans and the team.

England board statement
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued a statement about this, saying, “Chris Woakes suffered a left shoulder injury during the first day’s bowling. That is why he will not be able to participate in the rest of the fifth Test being played at Kia Oval.” The board also stated that his injury would be investigated in depth after the series is over. Currently, the status of Vox is being monitored.

Atkinson’s statement: the situation is not good
After the rain -affected game on the first day of the match, England bowler Gas Atkinson said, “I don’t know much, but Chris does not look good.” He added, “It is the last match of the series, and in such a situation, someone’s injury is really sad. We are all hoping that the injury is not very serious and Chris has our full support.” Let us know that on the first day, India scored 204 runs for 6 wickets till stumps.

Vox performance and England’s challenge
Vox bowled 14 overs on the first day and conceded 46 runs with KL Rahul’s crucial wicket. Her injury has added England to the difficulties, as the team is already playing without many big players like captain Ben Stokes. In such a situation, Gas Atkinson said to take responsibility. He said, “I feel fresh and good. I know that this is the last match, so I will throw all my strength.” Atkinson took two wickets in 19 overs on the first day.

Series condition
England is leading 2–1 in this five-Test series. But in the absence of Vox, winning the last Test for the team and doing the series is now even more challenging. The eyes of the fans are now on whether England will be able to recover from this shock or India will take advantage of this opportunity.
