New Delhi . In the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Election, the EVM and VVPAT machines were demanded for checking the Burns of Burns or MicroController, all those machines were found to be successful in diagnosis and VVP There was no difference in slips. This information was shared by the Election Commission of India (EC) on Thursday and said that the test once again proves that EVMs are completely safe and free from tampering.
The Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra received applications from 8 candidates, in which these 10 assembly constituencies were mentioned. They include the constituencies of Kopari-Pachapakhadi, Thane, Panvel, Alibag, Khadkwasla, Arni, Yevala, Chandgad, Kolhapur North and Majalgaon. The candidates who lost in some of these demanded an inquiry into the Bort memory of EVMs i.e. microchip.
How was the investigation?
A total of 48 ballot units, 31 control units and 31 VVPAT units were checked and verified. 6 out of 8 candidates and their representatives were present. 2 did not participate. In the investigation process, the manufacturer ECIL engineers conducted diagnostic tests on all machines and certified them.
A mock poll was also performed with diagnostic tests at Panvel, Alibaug, Arni, Yevala, Chandgad, Kolhapur North and Majalgaon. The EVM result was mixed with VVPAT slips and no disturbances or differences were found anywhere.
The Election Commission spokesman said, “Every machine passed the test and no discrepancy was found in VVPAT matching. This proves that India’s EVM system is completely reliable and free from tampering.”
After the defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections last year, the Congress party alleged that the voter list was arbitrarily cut and added. After 5 pm, there was a sudden increase in voting percentage, which benefited the BJP. However, the allegations have proved baseless by the technical and physical investigation conducted by the Election Commission.
