Moeen Ali picks India’s best batter of the series

Despite Gill’s unmatched run tally, Moeen has picked Rahul as the best Indian batter of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Speaking on the Beard Before Wicket podcast, the former England star praised Rahul’s technique and temperament, especially in challenging English conditions.

“I think people don’t realise how good someone like KL (Rahul) is. He was brilliant last year as well in England, and he’s been brilliant again in this series,” said Moeen.

While acknowledging Gill’s incredible numbers, Moeen highlighted Rahul’s crucial contributions as more significant in the broader context of India’s performance.

“I know Shubman scored the most runs and was outstanding with a brilliant technique. But I thought KL’s role within that side was probably the best I’ve seen him play over there. He’s such a good player. I genuinely believe he’s one of the best players in the world—and I’ve said that for a while,” added Moeen.
