How to Control Stomach Gas: Frequent formation of gas in the stomach, bloating or feeling of uneasiness can also be the result of your diet and eating habits. There are some foods that take a long time to digest and cause gas. Ignoring the problem of gas formation can further cause problems like acidity and indigestion. 

On this issue, Dr. Rawat Chaudhary says, "Most people believe that gas is caused only by oily or spicy food, while the truth is that some foods considered healthy can also cause gas." He says that the problem of gas can be prevented to a great extent by changing the diet and adopting the right way of eating. 

 

 

Pulses and Beans

Kidney beans, gram, lentils, pigeon peas and chickpeas are rich in fibre and protein, but the sugar present in them called oligosaccharides is difficult to digest, which causes gas formation.

Vegetables that cause gas 

Cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli contain high amounts of sulphur and fibre, which produce gas during digestion.

carbonated drinks

Soda, cold drinks and energy drinks contain carbon dioxide gas, which directly increases gas in the stomach.

Dairy Products

If you are lactose intolerant, you will have trouble digesting milk, cheese, and ice cream, and your stomach will bloat.

Processed and junk foods

Packaged snacks, burgers, pizza and oily foods are high in sodium and trans fat, which slows down digestion and creates gas.

Easy ways to avoid gas

  • Eat food slowly – Eating quickly causes air to enter the stomach, which causes gas.
  • Drink water at the right time – Do not drink too much water immediately after eating, it slows down digestion.
  • Balance fiber – Fiber is essential, but suddenly increasing its quantity can cause gas.
  • Exercise – A light walk after eating improves digestion.

Gas problem is not caused only by spicy food, but some healthy foods included in your diet can also be the cause of it. By adopting the right food, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, you can get rid of this problem and keep the digestive system strong.
