School closed in Uttarakhand: The torrential rains in various districts of Uttarakhand have created problems. In view of this situation, a day off has been announced in all schools and Anganwadi centers from class 1 to 12 in district Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal and Nainital on Tuesday, August 12. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students and employees, as the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains and waterlogging in these areas.
Meteorological Center, Dehradun, has stated in its latest forecast that heavy rains are likely in these districts in the next 24 hours. In view of the strong winds and the threat of water flow, the administration ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centers. District Magistrate, Rudraprayag said, “Our priority is the safety of children and teachers, so this difficult decision has been taken.” This step has been taken to deal with the dangers that may arise due to heavy rains, such as waterlogging, landslides and traffic obstruction.
Administrative preparations in affected areas
The administration has activated the Disaster Management Cell in these districts. District officials of Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal and Nainital have been instructed to ensure security arrangements around schools and Anganwadi centers. In addition, local residents have been requested to avoid unnecessary travel and pay attention to the weather conditions. “We have alerted all the concerned officials to face any emergency situation,” said an official from the District Disaster Management Authority, Pauri Garhwal. Students have been advised to stay at home due to school closure. Parents are requested to take care of the safety of their children and contact the local administration in any emergency. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the process of rain may intensify in the next few hours.
