Peter Andre and his family have been keeping busy, with his eldest daughter, Princess Andre, recently launching her own TV show as she turns 18. Peter, the epitome of a proud father, has expressed his delight, stating it will be "great" and that the 'main thing is she is happy".

He told OK! Magazine: "I'm incredibly proud of Princess and her new show, The Princess Diaries. Now that she's 18, this is a fantastic step for her. I wasn't present for most of the filming, so I don't know exactly how it went but, knowing her, I'm confident it will be great. The main thing is she is content - that's all that truly matters.

"Now that she's 18, I'm surprised she still comes to me for advice. As I tell all my children, I advised her that if she stays true to herself and speaks her truth, she'll do more than just fine - she'll be phenomenal."

It comes after Katie apologised to her daughter Princess and pledged to "prioritise" her children after enduring "through a dark time".

During an episode of her new ITV2 reality programme The Princess Diaries, Princess revealed: "Mum was heartbroken and she went through a dark time and it was things kids shouldn't see and when we needed our mum there, she wasn't there because she had her own problems.

"Kids in school would ask me about it, and I was like 11, and I would just cry about it in bed. I couldn't just go to my dad about it because I grew up with them not liking each other.

"I'm not healed or fully recovered from it, but Mum has fixed herself compared to how she was back then."

Princess Andre, 18, is the daughter of the former glamour model and pop star Peter Andre - who separated when she was merely two years old - and she has disclosed her early years weren't especially joyful because her mother battled following the collapse of her marriage to Kieran Hayler.

During an episode of her new ITV2 reality programme The Princess Diaries, Princess revealed: "Mum was heartbroken and she went through a dark time and it was things kids shouldn't see and when we needed our mum there, she wasn't there because she had her own problems.

"I'm not healed or fully recovered from it, but mum has fixed herself compared to how she was back then. ".

Nevertheless, Princess has disclosed that Katie expressed regret and rose to the occasion.

She continued: "She spoke to me about it and she apologised and I never wanted an apology but it was a lot that she acknowledged it and she realised she needed to prioritise us, we now talk a lot and she is now my best friend."

The teenager also shared her experience of residing between two homes as she divided time with her divorced parents - confessing there weren't many regulations when she was staying with her mother. She stated: "Mum's house was chaotic there weren't many rules, a few boundaries maybe but it was go to bed when you want and eat what you want."

Katie has previously confessed that she hasn't been "allowed" to participate in her daughter's new reality show, yet she remains resolute in her support.
