Apple is challenging moral hackers to make a dent in the iphone fort like iPhone, through its Apple Security Bounty Program, which was launched in 2016. The program has rewards up to ₹ 16.77 crore ($ 2 million). With the aim of strengthening the device security, the initiative invites researchers to highlight weaknesses in iOS, iPados, Macos and iCloud, and provides sufficient payments for high-effects.

This program classifies awards based on the severity of exploitation. Physical access attacks such as bypassing the lock screen can earn up to ₹ 2.09 crore ($ 250,000). Network attacks required by apps or user participation by the user can also earn up to ₹ 2.09 crore by clicking on a malicious link.

Top Awards-₹ 8.39 crore ($ 1 million)-are for zero-click attacks that require no action from the user or a distant violation of private cloud compute data. Bypassing the lockdown mode designed for high -risk users, a maximum reward of ₹ 16.77 crore ($ 2 million) is given.

To obtain eligibility, researchers have to submit a detailed report with reproductive feats, reports only to Apple, and maintain confidentiality until the solution is released. Apple donates equal to the reward given to charity like Ford Foundation, which increases the appeal of the program. Since 2019, Apple has paid approximately $ 20 million, with the average product category payment of $ 40,000. Posts on X highlight the enthusiasm, some call it “Hackers Dream Nachalyn”.

This underlines Apple’s commitment to protect its 2.35 billion equipment, rewarding executive hackers. Researchers can also apply for the Safety Research Equipment Program to test the weaknesses on special iphones, whose applications are ending by 31 October, 2025.
