Many types of questions are arising in the minds of people regarding the Annual Fastag pass. One of these is whether this pass will be active on the Fastag already made on the chassis number of the car or not. Many vehicle owners do not give complete registration details while purchasing Fastag.
To avail the Annual Fastag pass, it is necessary to complete the KYC and vehicle registration of your Fastag. The fastag made on the chassis number is temporary and is valid only for a limited time. In such a situation, it is difficult to activate the annual pass on it.
If your fastag is made only on the chassis number. Then you will have to get the complete registration of the vehicle done. After this, you will have to contact the bank or the provider issuing the fastag and get a new fastag issued. Only then will you be able to link the annual pass to your tag.
After the new fastag is issued, you will have to book the annual pass by going to the Highway Yatra app or NHAI website. Here you will have to fill the vehicle's registration number, fastag ID and other details. After making the payment, this pass will be linked to your fastag.
The reason why annual pass is not applicable on fastag with chassis number is its validity. This temporary tag is for use till the permanent RC of the car arrives. Permanent registration is necessary for long term plans like annual pass.
If your existing fastag is issued on permanent RC. Then you will have to buy only annual pass. For this, you can visit the Highway Yatra app or the NHAI website. Those who still have a temporary tag will have to get a new Fastag first.
