Anirudddhacharya controversy: Anirudhacharya Maharaj, the famous narrator of Mathura-Vrindavan, was in discussion on media and social platforms recently. This happened when he made a controversial statement about the age of the girls' marriage and their character. Women organizations staged protests against her statements. In a special conversation of TV9 Bharatvarsha, Anirudhacharya clarified his statement and the reasons behind it.
Anirudhacharya said in his statement that his statement was limited to some girls and boys, not for all. He spoke of law in the context of illegal misdeeds and freedom like child marriage. According to him, the law respects the rights of women living in live-in relations only, while the beliefs and feelings of crores of Hindus are not given sufficient importance.
Maharaj also questioned cow slaughter and said that cow slaughter has been happening in the country for a long time, but no concrete law has been made on it. He says that the beliefs of crores of Hindus are attached to Gomata, and it is important to keep in mind the feelings of the people on this subject.
When his statement questioned the use of abusive language, Anirudhacharya connected it to the mother and child relationship. He said that just as the mother scolds her child and slaps even if needed, in the same way it is the responsibility of the Guru to show the right path to her disciples. He admitted that his words were bitter, but this bitterness became the reason for bringing this issue into discussion.
Anirudhacharya said that he is a resident of the village and speaks the language of the villagers. According to him, there cannot be discussion between society and family without rigorous language. He also said that his aim was not to hurt anyone's feelings, but to show the right direction to the disciples and society.
