The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday exposed the crowd of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaigning rally. The party’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Atishi shared several videos on social media and claimed that when the people of Delhi did not reach the rally, the BJP’s MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) government had instructed the government employees such as scavengers and teachers to take them to the rally.
Atishi alleged that the MCD canceled the leave of the employees and called him an excuse for ‘duty’. In the video, the staff shows that they were taken to the rally venue by sitting in buses in Mazaburi. Atishi called this process as “misuse of government and power”.
He said that the BJP is doing poor politics by sending the responsibility of cleaning the city, by sending them to the rally. At the same time, he raised the question that on the day of holiday, it comes under which constitution or law it comes under which constitution or law.
Atishi showed videos shared from Seemapuri, Janakpuri, Laxminagar, in which government employees are being stunned in buses. In those videos, it is clearly visible at the ground level that people were taken to the rally against their wish.
Praveen Kumar, MCD Councilor of Janakpuri Ward 105, said that Sunday is usually a comfort day of the employees, but the BJP is taking them to the rally.
Councilor of Dariyaganj Ward 142 and AAP Women’s Wing State President Sarika Chaudhary shared that such situations have come that government employees have also become useful “crowds” in politics. Especially actions like breaking slums have distanced the public from the BJP.
Mukesh Kumar, Delhi State Vice President of AAP Yuva Morcha, wrote that after working hard all week, rest is required on Sunday, but he was sent to the rally. He clearly described it as the misuse of BJP politics and machinery.
A scavenger said that his pregnant wife was about to be delivered, but she was forced to be called out for fear of being fired. He was seduced in the buses and threatened for protesting.
A female scavenger told that her fast was on the day of Krishna Janmashtami. The fast opened at night and then the next morning he was called to work. He said that it is a holiday, but his presence was not recorded and he did not even tell what is the goal of the rally or where it is being taken.
