Up t20 League: Yash Dayal, who has contributed significantly to Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first IPL title, is in trouble for his career. According to India Today report, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has stopped him from participating in the upcoming UP T20 League after two cases of sexual harassment against him. The UP T20 League will be played at Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow from August 17.
Yash Dayal, who was bought by Gorakhpur Lions for ₹ 7 lakh, will no longer play in this league after this decision of UPCA. Legal pages have endangered his cricket future.
Two separate cases have been registered against the 27-year-old bowler-one in Ghaziabad, where he has received temporary relief from arrest, and the other is associated with allegations to a minor in Jaipur.
The Allahabad High Court has stayed his arrest in the Ghaziabad case, while the Rajasthan High Court has refused to intervene in the Jaipur case, whose next hearing is scheduled on 22 August.
Dayal, originally from Prayagraj, played a key role in RCB’s title win by taking 13 wickets in 15 matches during IPL 2024. However, now in view of serious allegations against him, the future of his professional career is uncertain.
Uttar Pradesh’s left -arm fast bowler Yash Dayal made his IPL debut in 2022 with Gujarat Titans and joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2024. Known for his swing and diversity in the death overs, Dayal has bowled impressive in his IPL journey.
So far in 36 matches, he has taken 37 wickets at an economy rate of around 9. He was particularly effective in RCB’s 2024 title win campaign, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. Despite some expensive performances in the early stages of his career, Dayal has emerged as a reliable alternative in high pressure conditions.
