The Nagpur police of Maharashtra have solved a hit and run case with the help of AI. Police arrested the accused truck driver in about 36 hours. Also, the truck used in the incident has also been seized. Police claim that the accused hit the bike rider. The woman sitting behind on the bike died in the accident. Subsequently, the victim’s husband tied his wife’s body to his village and took him to his village in Madhya Pradesh. The police noted this when the video of the bike rider went viral on social media.

Nagpur SP Harsh Poddar said that on the day of Rakshabandhan i.e. on August 9, the bike riding couple were hit by a speeding truck on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway. The woman died in this accident. After the incident, the accused driver escaped from the spot with a truck. The SP said that when he found a video of a bike rider on social media, in which his dead wife was shown to be tied behind the bike, he started investigating the case. The police contacted the victim and took complete information about the incident, after which the search for the accused driver was started.

Police reached the accused through AI algorithm
SP Harsh Poddar said that the victim was able to give very little information during interrogation. After this, many teams of police started scrutinizing the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway. There were 3 toll blocks on different routes on the highway. All the data was assembled. During the footage investigation, the police used AI algorithm (artificial intelligence). Through this technique, the visuals we wanted were ordered. This also cleared the visuals.

Identification of red trucks with the help of AI Elgorithm
The SP said that with the help of AI Algorithm, the trucks with red mark were identified after examining the entire CCTV footage. The speed of trucks was examined with the help of another AI Elgorithm, which revealed the truck and its driver. The accused who identified the truck was arrested from the Gwalior-Kanpur highway, about 700 km from the scene. The truck, including the accused, was also seized. The SP said that with the help of AI, the police revealed the case in 36 hours.
