Renowned Pakistani fashion designer Maria B has recently taken to social media to expose a private LGBTQ-themed party allegedly held in Lahore. The controversial event, according to Maria B, featured satanic-themed outfits, hidden vulgar messages, and was attended by several school-going children—raising serious concerns among parents and the public alike.
Maria B revealed that the video and images of the event were sent to her by concerned children who were present at the gathering. She claimed the children were shocked and disturbed by the atmosphere, which they felt was promoting an inappropriate agenda under the guise of entertainment. The designer expressed strong disapproval, labeling the event as an attempt to normalize values that conflict with Pakistani cultural and religious norms.
In addition to exposing the party, Maria B criticized filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat, stating that his internationally acclaimed film Joyland—which explores LGBTQ themes—is being screened privately in Lahore at his venue. She questioned how such screenings are allowed under current government regulations.
Maria B also highlighted a video clip of an Israeli official allegedly urging Pakistan to lift restrictions on LGBTQ rights, suggesting that there is foreign pressure behind the promotion of such ideologies in the country. In her statement, she vowed to continue exposing such activities, asserting that she is not afraid of “Desi liberals” who might criticize her stance.
The incident has sparked a wave of support for Maria B, with many social media users praising her for taking a bold stand. Her followers echoed her concerns, arguing that LGBTQ- content and events pose a threat to Pakistani social values and must be monitored and condemned.
The controversy has reignited a broader national conversation on LGBTQ rights, cultural identity, and the limits of freedom of expression in Pakistan.
