Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi a well known singer and the unmatched legend of Saraiki and Punjabi music has turned 74.

He is being called Lala by fans because of his unbearable melodious voice . He has recorded more than 50,000 songs in seven different languages, bringing pride to Pakistan on the global stage.

Born on August 19, 1951, in Esakhel, Punjab, Attaullah developed a passion for singing from childhood. However , he left home because his father did not approved his passion for music but these hardships helped him to shape his successful career.

He began his career in 1972 at Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur, where his voice quickly won hearts. By 1973, he had gained nationwide recognition through PTV’s famous show Neelam Ghar and concerts in his hometown, Mianwali.

In Faisalabad, he recorded four folk albums in a single sitting, which were released in 1977. These songs echoed everywhere, from farms to highways.

His track “Ai Thewa Mandri Da Thewa” gave him mass popularity, while “Chan Kithan Guzari Aayi Raat Way” made him a household name across Pakistan — achieving the kind of fame most artists only dream of.

With his record-breaking output of songs, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized him in 1994. Earlier, in 1991, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance.

From simple village gatherings to the global stage, Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi remains the timeless voice of the people — a true legend whose songs still live in every heart.
