News India Live, Digital Desk, Organic pesticide: Tulsi plant is considered sacred and revered in Hinduism, but often insects and diseases can harm it, due to which the plant starts to dry. If your basil plant is affected by insects and is withering, then you can make it healthy again with some easy home remedies.

Measures to protect the basil plant from insects and recreate:

  • Neem oil spray: Neem oil is an effective natural pesticide. Mix a few drops of neem oil and some liquid soap in a liter of water and shake it well. Spray this solution on basil leaves and stem once or twice a week, especially under the leaves. It drives away insects such as Aphids, Mealybugs and Whiteflies.
  • Use of turmeric powder: Turmeric has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Spring a little turmeric powder in the soil of basil pot protects against diseases and insects.
  • Proper water and drainage in the soil: Insects often thrive in moist or more dry soil. Give basil water regularly, but do not allow water to accumulate in the pot. Good drainage reduces the possibility of pests growing.
  • Tulsi plant pruning: From time to time, remove dried, yellow or insect-affected leaves of basil. It helps to keep the plant healthy and promote new growth. This also improves air circulation, which reduces infection of insects.
  • Onion and garlic paste: Many insects do not like the strong smell of onion and garlic. Make a paste and dissolve it in water and spray it on the leaves. This remedy can also be quite effective.
  • Leaf removal: If some leaves are badly infected, remove them carefully, so that the insects do not spread on other leaves.
  • Regular checking: Inspect the plant regularly so that you can solve them as soon as the initial symptoms of insects are seen.

By adopting these measures, you can keep your revered basil plant healthy and green, so that it will always spread positive energy and prosperity in your house.
