Material

Poha (Chivda) – 1 cup (lighter thick or thin will run)
Milk – 2 cups
Sugar-3-4 tablespoons
Cardamom Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee – 1 teaspoon
Dried dry fruits (cashews, almonds, raisins) – to taste (chopped)
Saffron threads-5-6 (soaked in hot milk)

Method

  1. To make pohe kheer, first wash the pohe with water and soak it for 2-3 minutes. Then squeeze the water and keep it aside. Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a pan, add chopped cashews, almonds and raisins and fry it lightly. Remove and keep it aside.
  2. Add milk to the same pan and boil on medium flame. When the milk comes to a boil, add soaked poha in it and cook for 5-7 minutes until the poha melts well in the milk.
  3. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron milk and roasted fruits. Cook 2-3 minutes and until the kheer becomes creamy. Serve like a hot or cold mind. Decorate by adding more dry fruits.
  4. If you want, you can make kheer a little thick or thin according to your taste. In this, more rich can be made by adding coconut powder or mawa. Children are perfect for tiffin or light sweetness of the night.
