Russia-Ukraine War: As the four-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine draws to a close, the US president is getting ready to invite both nations to a peace conference. He wants to meet with the leaders of the states of Russia and Ukraine in person after speaking with them individually. Nevertheless, despite these attempts, the situation remains such that both sides continue to launch airstrikes. Then, the issue is, when will the ceasefire be concluded after so many meetings?

Russia once again launched drone strikes in several regions of Ukraine throughout the night amid attempts to hold peace negotiations with Ukraine. In addition, Russia has responded sharply to the security guarantee problem. Russia discussed Ukraine’s drone assaults on its controlled power plant and the resulting power outage on August 20. Russia responded to this by launching swift drone strikes on August 21.

In Ukraine, drones shot overnight

Russia conducted a significant missile and drone strike on several parts of Ukraine on August 21, including parts of western Ukraine that are hundreds of kilometers from the battle line. The strike occurred barely six days after the US and Russia started high-level peace negotiations. In Rivne Oblast, there were three powerful explosions. According to reports, a high alert was imposed across Ukraine after a Russian bomber jet and drone strike. According to reports, Russian MiG-31 fighter aircraft were seen in the air.

Kyiv also saw a drone strike

In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, Russian Shahid drones were also seen. The local military government claims that drones are operating on the capital’s outskirts. The air defense system activated around 4 a.m. local time, and drones began to be halted. Dozens of Russian drones were seen heading toward Khmelnitsky Oblast, Ternopil, and Lviv, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Lviv Oblast Governor Maxim Kozitsky acknowledged that Shahid drones were seen in the Zolochiv region.

“Without us, security guarantees are impossible,” Lavrov said

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that this endeavor would be futile if Russia is not involved in the debate over Western nations providing security assurances to Ukraine. “I am certain that the West, particularly the US, is well aware that serious talks on security guarantees without involving Russia are a fantasy, a path that leads nowhere,” Lavrov told reporters. His comments coincided with a virtual conference of NATO senior officials considering Ukraine’s peace deal and security assurances.
