Rajinikanths Coolie received mixed reviews from masses and critics upon its release on August 14. Despite that the Tamil action thriller received bumper opening of Rs 65 crore on its first day. Rajinikanths massive star power drew huge crowds initially but as the days passed the film has failed to show any growth that could match the expectations.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial earned approximately Rs 5.50 crore net across all languages on its ninth day. This marks a major drop in its opening weekend with its total domestic collection that stands at Rs 235.15 crore.

Despite mix reviews Coolie has become 2025s third-highest grosser surpassing Vicky Kaushals Chhaava and Ahaan Panday Aneet Padda-led Saiyaara. Moreover the Rajinikanth starrer has earned Rs 167 crore overseas beating Chhaava and Saiyaara that grossed Rs 160 crore and Rs 90 crore respectively. Coolie has beat both these films to become 2025s biggest Indian hit overseas.
Coolie vs War 2
Coolie saw a massive clash at the box office with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2. Coolie is still ahead in the clash earning over Rs 400 crore globally. While War 2 has collected over Rs 300 crore worldwide and has crossed Rs 200 crore mark in India.
