In view of the festival of Ganpati, the railway has announced to run record trains. This time the railway record will run 380 Ganpati special trains. Before this, so many trains have never been announced till date. By the way, the number of these special trains has been increased in the last few years. In the year 2023, the Railways announced to run 305 trains, which was increased to 358 in the year 2024. Now in 2025, the record breaks 380 rounds. This means that on the occasion of this Ganpati, more passengers are expected to come in the previous years.
According to the information given by the Railways, the Central Railway will operate the highest 296 services in view of the huge crowd during festivals in Maharashtra and Konkan region. Western Railway will run 56 services, while South Western Railway will add 22 and Konkan Railway (KRCL) 6 rounds. For trains going to Konkan, it is planned to stop at several major stations including Kolad, Mangaon, Chiploon, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi and Surathkal.
Ganpati Puja ceremony will be held from 27 August to 6 September 2025. To meet the expected increase in demand, special trains have started running since August 11, 2025, and their frequency will be increased when the festival comes close to the festival.
